How do I choose between volar, dorsal and column plates?

Start with the fixation region and plate family requested by the clinical team. Volar, dorsal and column-specific designs offer different configurations; they are not interchangeable. XC Medico can match the requested configuration to available implants and instruments.

Do the 6H and 7H names refer to the whole plate?

No. They describe the number of holes in the plate head. Both families offer separate 2-7-hole shaft configurations and left or right versions. Specify the head design, shaft hole count and side when requesting a quotation.

Can the same screws be used with every distal radius plate?

No. The featured 2.7 mm families use HA 2.7 cortical and HC 2.7 locking screws. The long dorsal family lists HA 3.5 and HC 2.7 or 3.5 options. Confirm the screw type and compatible plate hole for each reference.

Does one instrument set cover the whole portfolio?

The Distal Radius Instrument Set supports the dedicated 2.7 mm platform. Selected 3.5 mm locking or non-locking configurations need their own matched instruments. Specify the exact plates before finalizing the tray contents.

Are non-locking options available?

Yes. Distal Radius Medial Plate and Distal Radius Medial Plate (Metacarpus Medial Type) provide 3-6-hole titanium options with HA 3.5 and HB 4.0 screws. Other non-locking designs require a separate configuration review.
